Sundara is a sanctuary from stress and for that reason all of our common areas are electronics-free. It is our policy for guests to deactivate and stow cell phones, tablets and all other electronic devices while in common areas, engage in quiet conversation that is soothing to everyone around you, embrace the conversation-free policy of the Purifying Bath Ritual, Tranquility Garden and Meditation Trail. It is our goal to provide each and every guest with an oasis of complete calm.
Sundara was conceived as a place of wellness, where lives would be transformed one person at a time. Wellness would be defined as a balance of four cornerstones -- spiritual, emotional, mental and physical. The vision was for a destination spa where guests and employees alike would allow wisdom into their lives, a wisdom drawn from ancient healing principles and modern well-being. A sanctuary where guests would leave with more than they came. The vision became reality, when we opened our doors in 2003.
We are adult-only for tranquility. We are smoke-free for health. We are cell-phone free in public areas for relaxation.
Why was Sundara built in Wisconsin Dells, when it could have been anywhere? Many potential locations were visited, but there was something magical about our fragrant pine forest. The natural beauty spoke to our soul. There is a broader message associated with our location: We deserve a world-class experience like Sundara in the heartland.
Today, we are a haven where people reconnect with those most important in their lives. Where guests learn again how to slow down and relax. Where green practices are a way of life. Where healing takes place every day.
In everything we do, our mission is wellness.
We provide a sanctuary from stress,
a healing touch, a kind word, a place to reconnect.
We set an example of love and respect for the earth.
We embrace the joy of wellness in our own lives.
