Spa Policies

Adult-only with a peace and quiet philosophy we think you’ll appreciate.

Peace & Quiet Policy

Sundara is a sanctuary from stress and it is our policy for guests to deactivate and stow cell phones, laptops, tablets, kindles, cameras and other recording devices while in common areas; engage in quiet conversation that is soothing to everyone around you; and embrace the mind and body cleanse of the Purifying Bath Ritual. We ask that you use “spa voices” in all areas at Sundara to maintain a peaceful atmosphere. The Infinity Pool deck and Relaxation room are for tranquil relaxation. Our Cambrian Oasis, Nava Restaurant and Savana Patio are all spaces for reconnection. Enjoy silent spaces that are conversation-free, these areas include the Suvela Silent Room and Meditation Trail. This policy is enforced for the enjoyment of everyone. Guests are encouraged to respect quiet hours between 9:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. It is our goal to provide each and every Sundara guest with an oasis of complete calm.

 Things You Need to Know

Sundara is adult-only; guests must be 18 or older. The entire 80-acre enclave is non-smoking, including balconies and patios. This policy applies to all forms of smoking, including but not limited to cigarettes, cigars, pipes, vaporizers, electronic cigarettes and marijuana. Sundara recognizes that some state and local governments in the U.S. might allow marijuana use. However, Sundara follows federal law and Wisconsin State law, which strictly prohibits possession and use of recreational/medicinal marijuana and other illegal controlled substances. Any violation of this policy will result in a $500 charge, per violation, posted on the guest’s folio and will result in an eviction. Guests who are evicted for violating our policy will be responsible for all financial charges and expenses with no refunds being issued. Additionally, they may be prohibited from enjoying Sundara in the future.

No pets allowed. To ensure our guests’ privacy, cameras and other recording devices are not allowed at Sundara other than in the privacy of your suite. Food and beverage brought from home may only be taken into your suite and not the common areas. Use of candles and any open flames in guest accommodations, including balconies and verandas, is prohibited.

The listed rates are subject to availability and change. Holiday season rates may be applicable throughout the year. A credit card and deposit, equivalent to one night of your stay, is taken at the time of reservation. For your convenience, Sundara Inn & Spa accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover Cards. Photo identification and a credit card are required for check-in. Minimum length-of-stay requirements apply to most weekends and holidays and are subject to change at any time. All rates based on double occupancy. Additional fees will apply for additional guests. It allows us to offer a full array of amenities. We’ll be happy to respond to any questions you may have regarding this or any other element of your stay at Sundara. Sundara is not responsible for lost personal items, including jewelry.

Parking is ample and free.

 Check-in is at 4 p.m. Check-out is 11 a.m.

 Cancellations

Cancellations for overnight reservations require a full 14-day notice to qualify for a refund of your total deposit amount less a processing fee of $30. A cancellation within 1 to 14 days prior to your visit will forfeit 50% of your deposit. A cancellation within 24 hours prior to your visit will forfeit your total deposit.

For spa or salon appointment cancellations, please notify us at least 48 hours prior to your appointment time in order to avoid being charged for 50% of the treatment’s value. Cancellations within 24 hours prior to a scheduled appointment will be charged in full, as will no-shows. Same-day spa appointments are non-cancellable and are charged at full value regardless of appearance. Please note that if you arrive late for your treatment, it will end as scheduled so as to not delay the next scheduled guest.

Spa Reservations and Payment

We recommend making spa appointments at the time of your suite reservation for best availability. For day guests, booking several weeks in advance is a good rule of thumb. Should you have a preference as to a male or female therapist, please let us know at time of reservation; if no preference is stated, we will schedule you with any one of our highly trained therapists. For your convenience, a 20% gratuity will be automatically added to all Spa and Salon services. No additional gratuities are expected. However, should this amount not reflect the amount you would like to provide as a gratuity for the service, simply indicate such at check-out and our front desk staff will happily make any adjustments you request. Please arrive a minimum of one hour before your scheduled appointment to allow ample time to check in, change, experience the Purifying Bath Ritual treatment, and to relax. Please be ready in your designated waiting area five minutes before your appointment; your therapist will meet you there.  In order to provide the highest level of personalized service some spa and salon services include consultation time with your spa therapist. This consultation is part of the service time and allows the therapist to customize products to your specific skin type and to discuss any other important details or preferences. If you arrive late for your treatment, it will end as scheduled so as not to delay the next scheduled guest.

What is the service charge policy?

We take our lead from the spa industry in adding a 20% service charge to all spa and salon services. Should you wish to adjust that amount, the front desk staff will happily make any requested adjustments.

Who should I inform of my medical conditions and allergies?

Please let the spa therapist know if you have any special physical or medical needs, conditions or considerations. Some spa treatments are not recommended in cases of pregnancy, allergies, high blood pressure or heart disease. This will also be covered on the health intake form.

Can I receive additional treatments the day of my scheduled appointment?

The spa schedule can fill up quickly, especially on weekends, so we recommend reserving when you make your overnight reservation. For day guests, allow at least several weeks advance notice to make sure you’re not disappointed. Should you want to add treatments during your stay, simply inquire at the front desk.

What should I wear while at Sundara?

A locker, plush robes, sandals, towels, amenities and hairdryers are provided at the spa for all guests receiving treatments.  For the our water amenities, you’ll wear your *Swimwear. Suite guests, please leave jewelry and other valuables in your in-room safe. Our day guests are responsible for any items left in the locker room. Overall, it’s best to leave valuables at home.

*Swimwear: Be sure to check your swimwear tags, as some may have restrictions as to their use in chlorinated water

How early should I arrive for my spa treatments?

Please arrive a minimum of one hour before your scheduled appointment to allow ample time to check in, change, experience the Purifying Bath Ritual, and to relax. Please be ready in the Relaxation Room or Radiance Room ten minutes before your appointment so that you may enjoy your full service time – your therapist will meet you there.

What should I do before my treatment?

We highly recommend that you enjoy the Purifying Bath Ritual prior to your treatments to cleanse the skin and clear the mind. At a minimum showering is essential as beneficial oils are best absorbed through clean skin. Allow at least one hour between your last meal and treatment. Also, avoid consumption of coffee or alcohol prior to massages or body treatments.

What training do your spa therapists receive?

We have attracted experienced, certified therapists from around the country who share a passion for contributing to the wellness of our guests. Each completes a rigorous training program, allowing for slight variations, naturally expected from one therapist to the next, all within our strict protocol. If you have questions, would like the therapist to adjust the pressure of the massage or feel any awkwardness, please speak with your therapist right away. If you have a preference for a male or female provider, just let us know at time of reservation and we will do our best to honor your preference.

Do I have to disrobe entirely for a spa treatment?

Disrobe to your comfort level. Please keep in mind that our spa professionals will drape towels or sheets discreetly over areas not involved in the treatment to protect your privacy at all times.

May I request a male or female spa therapist?

When scheduling your treatments, you may request a male or female therapist; however, we will do our best to accommodate these requests but we regret that we cannot guarantee this preference.

All of our therapists are highly skilled professionals and are well trained in draping techniques to provide you with the utmost comfort for your Spa experience. Our ability to schedule you with either gender allows us to provide you the widest range of appointment availability

Can I engage in physical activity after receiving a massage or body treatment?

Yes, just remember to be fully hydrated.

Is there dining on premise?

Nava is sanskrit for fresh and the name of our new full-service restaurant. Chef-prepared cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner is available for both day and overnight guests. Enjoy dining in the restaurant, on the adjacent Savana patio, poolside, in our Cambrian Oasis or in-suite. A sophisticated wine list and specialty drink offerings complete the menu.
