FAQs for first-time spa-goers as well as the spa-savvy.

Please contact us with any questions not answered here. Or, check our policies for information on reservations and cancellations.

When is check-in and check-out?

For overnight accommodations, check-in is 4 p.m. and check-out is 11 a.m. Spa treatment hours are weekdays 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and weekends 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

What is the peace and quiet policy at Sundara?

Our goal is to create a sanctuary from stress for every guest. We are electronics-free in common areas, meaning simply that guests must refrain from using cell phones, laptops, tablets, kindles and cameras while in those areas. We also encourage quiet conversation that is soothing to everyone around you, and ask that you embrace the conversation-free policy of the Suvela Room, Tranquility Garden and Meditation Trail.

What else should I know about Sundara etiquette?

Sundara Inn & Spa is adult-only; guests must be 18 years or older. The 26 acres of Sundara are a non-smoking environment. To ensure our guests’ privacy, cameras and other recording devices, as well as personal food and beverages, are not allowed at Sundara other than in the privacy of your suite. Pets are not allowed. Guests are encouraged to respect quiet hours between 9 p.m. and 8 a.m.

What should I bring?

As the spa is a co-ed facility, please bring your bathing suit so that you may enjoy the Purifying Bath Ritual and outdoor pools. For those wanting to keep up with their fitness routine, pack workout clothes and shoes. The majority of Wisconsin Dells-area restaurants accept smart casual dress. Bring that book they’ve been meaning to read or your journal to catch up on entries. Sun protection including hat, sunscreen and sunglasses is always a good idea. Valid photo identification and a major credit card issued in your name are required at check-in.

What should I do when I arrive?

Parking on the grounds is ample and free including electric car charging stations. Both day and overnight guests check in at the front desk. If you’re having spa treatments, you’ll fill out a health intake form that you’ll take with you to present to your spa therapist. For day guests, you’ll be directed to the locker room to change into a spa robe and slippers. Overnight guests may make their way to their suite and change in to the spa robe and slippers provided in the room. Then it’s time to relax.

What is the gratuity policy?

We take our lead from the spa industry in adding a 20% service charge to all spa and salon services. At check-out, the front desk staff will ask if you’d like to adjust that amount and will happily make any requested adjustments.

Who should I inform of my medical conditions and allergies?

Please let the spa therapist know if you have any special physical or medical needs, conditions or considerations. Some spa treatments are not recommended in cases of pregnancy, allergies, high blood pressure or heart disease. This will also be covered on the health intake form.

Can I receive additional treatments the day of my scheduled appointment?

The spa schedule can fill up quickly, especially on weekends, so we recommend reserving when you make your overnight reservation. For day guests, allow at least several weeks advance notice to make sure you’re not disappointed. Should you want to add treatments during your stay, simply inquire at the front desk.

What should I wear while at Sundara?

A locker, plush robes, sandals, towels, amenities and hairdryers are provided at the spa for all guests receiving treatments. Many of our overnight guests prefer to wear their in-room bathrobes and sandals when walking between their guestroom and the spa. For the Purifying Bath Ritual, you’ll wear your swimming suit. Suite guests, please leave jewelry and other valuables in your in-room safe. Our day guests are responsible for any items left in the locker room. Overall, it’s best to leave valuables at home.

How early should I arrive for my spa treatments?

Please arrive a minimum of one hour before your scheduled appointment to allow ample time to check in, change, experience the Purifying Bath Ritual, and to relax. Please be ready in the Relaxation Room or Radiance Room ten minutes before your appointment so that you may enjoy your full service time – your therapist will meet you there.

What should I do before my treatment?

We highly recommend that you enjoy the Purifying Bath Ritual prior to your treatments to cleanse the skin and clear the mind. At a minimum showering is essential as beneficial oils are best absorbed through clean skin. Allow at least one hour between your last meal and treatment. Also, avoid consumption of coffee or alcohol prior to massages or body treatments.

What training do your spa therapists receive?

We have attracted experienced, certified therapists from around the country who share a passion for contributing to the wellness of our guests. Each completes a rigorous training program, allowing for slight variations, naturally expected from one therapist to the next, all within our strict protocol. If you have questions, would like the therapist to adjust the pressure of the massage or feel any awkwardness, please speak with your therapist right away. If you have a preference for a male or female provider, just let us know at time of reservation.

Do I have to disrobe entirely for a spa treatment?

Disrobe to your comfort level. Please keep in mind that our spa professionals will drape towels or sheets discreetly over areas not involved in the treatment to protect your privacy at all times.

Can I engage in physical activity after receiving a massage or body treatment?

Yes, just remember to be fully hydrated.

Is there dining on premise?

Nava is sanskrit for fresh and the name of our new full-service restaurnat. Chef-prepared cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner is available for both day and overnight guests. Enjoy dining in the restaurant, on the adjacent Savana patio, poolside, in our Cambrian Oasis or in-suite. A sophisticated wine list and specialty drink offerings complete the menu.
